Altering time and space

I have made a new scientific discovery. The thirty second reading pause lasts longer than the five minute bathroom break. How can this be?

"A southern minister was completing a temperance sermon. With great statement he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river."

With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river!"

And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and pour it into the river!"

Sermon complete, he then sat down.

The song leader stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365: 'Shall We Gather at the River.'"

Received from Bob Seegmiller.

From The Good, Clean Funnies List,

... I'll meet you THERE Friday evening ;-)

Hi folks. Got Ice cream huh? How special is that. Too bad nobody brought you a portable shower or some of that extra special reference desk room deodorizer! Speaking of that, I was wondering if any of you would like some of my homemade chili with Lot-O-Frijoles? Nah, just kidding. Any way, I'm really proud of what you six are going to accomplish. Pretty cool. Cool Beans ;).

See you early in the AM.

Hey Mae, I think your next record should be the longest tattoo session. You only have to beat 33 hours!

Congratulations and keep up the good work! What a fun way to publicize literacy and raise funds for your library.

Sorry Joy, we were eating & Bryan was teaching me exercises.
Let the blogging begin. Sounds like it's a slow night on the ref desk.

Yo Dodger.
Aunt Crazy here. I am locked in a room with 5 other crazy librarians. We are trying to set a world's record for continuously reading aloud by a team.
did you check out the pix? Not my best shots, but considering the conditions here, they are not bad.
We expect to break the record at 1pm PST Friday. Wish us luck.

For those of you who can't make it down to Guinessland, let me set the scene...presently it is 10:30 pm on Tuesday night, night "two." The readers can choose between two comfy, over-stuffed chairs with ottomans. They have side tables with nice reading lamps. There is a beautiful area rug, and couch for observers. It's really like being at home! Right now we have three of the six readers "trying" to sleep...on their blow-up beds. Voices seem to be getting weaker, dark circles are forming, but spirits are still high! These crazy librarians will go down in history, however brief!
