We are currently reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Marcie is on duty, her shift ends at 1:30 PST. After the Harry Potter series, we will move on to Agatha Christie.
Three older ladies were discussing the travails of getting older.
One said, "Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of mayonnaise in my hand, in front of the refrigerator, and I can't remember whether I was taking it out or putting it away."
The second lady said, "Yes, sometimes I find myself on the landing of the stairs, and I can't remember whether I was on my up, or on my way down."
The third lady chimed in, "Well, I'm glad I don't have those problems. Knock on wood." With that, she rapped her knuckles on the table, then said, "That must be the door. I'll get it."
so if you stop reading to cry when a character dies, that doesn't interfere with the record, does it?
And you people who are there in person, are they reading "with expression" as my grandfather used to say? Does Prof. Trelawney sound wispy? Does Hagrid have some kind of lower-class British accent? Is Snape really sarcastic sounding? Is Prof. Umbridge squeaky? Hem-hem!
By the way, for anyone who cares, exactly 50% of the 30 people who responded to my in-house survey of the University of Missouri library system plan to read Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince this summer.
So-are we going to print all of these coments and blogs out and make a scrapbook of the goofy things you say in the middle of the night. Pictures and everything to accompany it.
Can I get you involved in something? Joyce up at State just asked me if we had a list of Las Vegas Authors. Has anyone over in Henderson done something like that? Maybe for the Las Vegas Valley Book Festival?
Yeah, I know this isn't the forum, but I thought I might get your mind off of reading, sleeping and eating.
Well, if anyone would be able to channel Britney Spears, it would definitely be Bryan. And we have the photos to prove it! (An MPLA Leadership Institute 2004 inside joke.)
Keep up the great work, folks. We're all rooting for you!

Hi guys,
Can I get you involved in something? Joyce up at State just asked me if we had a list of Las Vegas Authors. Has anyone over in Henderson done something like that? Maybe for the Las Vegas Valley Book Festival?

Who said I was married to Britney Spears? This is the first I've heard of this. No...I've seen the pictures, Greg. Don't you wish you were here?
